Expedition to Undermountain
Chapter 1: Before Undermountain
Rescued at a young age by a band of adventurers, Tenri is the product of a mad wizard’s experiments. The adventurers weren’t sure what to do with Tenri at first; being a Fey’ri born of the union of demon and sun elf he had a somewhat twisted appearance and would not fit in well with normal society. After some discussion the adventurers agreed to deliver Tenri to the home of a well trusted and powerful wizard in Waterdeep (Khelben Blackstaff) who might be able to help the boy cope with his unusual nature and do something about his slightly demonic appearance.
The wizard took in Tenri as his ward and performed a series of rituals and incantations to try and subvert the demon blood. The transformation was mostly successful leaving Tenri with the appearance of an elf with dark red skin and crimson eyes, however despite his best efforts the wizard believes that over time Tenri will revert back into a complete Fey’ri. Otherwise, Tenri has lived a fairly normal life, taught many different languages and given a good life in Waterdeep.
As Tenri grew up he proved to be quite clever, but something of a risk taker and a brash youth- especially after he took up Tymora as his deity. Tenri often took to the streets of Waterdeep seeking out adventure and thrills- enamored with his rescuers when he was young, they imprinted on him the yearning for an adventurer’s life. Once, the wizard tried to teach his craft to Tenri, but they both found that the demon blood wards cast upon Tenri interfered with his ability to implement the arcane arts. Unable to learn his master’s craft, Tenri instead took to the life of a rogue combining what he learned from the streets of Waterdeep with his deep interest in the workings of contraptions and ancient artifacts. Now that Tenri is sixteen, he is seeking the adventure of his lifetime and the chance to finally strike out on his own.
